Meet BeholD's Newest Apprentice

I’m Sara Katherine. My husband and I have been married since September 2015 and we have one child - Ruthie! - our little one who was born in November 2018. Raised in Athens, GA, I have a deep love for this town and community. I did my collegiate work in Texas, receiving my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Texas Christian University and then taught Elementary School for 5 years here in Athens.

Why birth work?

My journey into this career started with a love for hearing women tell their birth stories. What originally began as curiosity grew into care, knowledge and commitment. I am passionate about this one simple idea: your childbirth process does not need to be one marked by fear and pain. This belief shapes my dedication to working with women and to creating a powerful and positive experience as you bring a new life into this world.

During the birth of our daughter, my doula (Lindsey!) was instrumental in allowing us to have the supportive and peaceful birth experience we had always hoped and prayed for. I am currently in training to be a CAPPA certified labor doula and am excited to come alongside women and support them during the miraculous journey of pregnancy and childbirth!
